The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering provides: a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering, and an accelerated dual major program enabling students to earn both degrees within five years. It also features an accelerated Bachelor's to Master's program, where eligible seniors can complete up to 9 hours of dual undergraduate/graduate credit to obtain both BS and MS degrees in five years. Honors programs in Electrical and Computer Engineering emphasize personalized student mentoring. Additionally, the department offers a Graduate Certificate Program in Imaging and Signal Processing, a Master's program, and a Doctoral program. Funded research spans from intelligent systems to biomedical imaging. Electrical and Computer Engineers are the creators of modern technology, from mobile devices and tablets to smart power grids and Mars rovers. They develop the protocols for phone voice and data transmission, the circuits for interactive phone experiences through sound, sight, and touch, and the software that connects hardware to enable the apps we use.
