Biomedical Engineering is a diverse discipline dedicated to enhancing healthcare through engineering methods. For instance, creating innovative implants for hip fracture patients, developing sensors that monitor electrical signals to identify cardiac issues, and researching medications to combat cancer and other diseases are all potential roles for BME graduates. Our BME undergraduate curriculum equips students with distinctive skills and expertise for various career paths. It stands as the sole BME program within a 200-mile radius. Students engage with foundational and specialized engineering subjects like Biology, Biomechanics, and Biomaterials. In their final year, they collaborate in teams on a capstone design project, all of which are supported by local medical device firms or clinical organizations, offering hands-on involvement in device development pertinent to the biomedical and healthcare sectors.
