Biomedical Engineering is an expansive discipline dedicated to enhancing healthcare through engineering methods. For instance, BME graduates may pursue roles involving the creation of innovative implants for hip fracture patients, the development of devices that monitor electrical signals to identify cardiac issues, or the research of pharmaceuticals to combat cancer and other diseases. Our BME undergraduate curriculum equips students with distinctive expertise and competencies for diverse career paths. It stands as the sole BME program within a 200-mile radius. Students engage with foundational and specialized engineering subjects, including Biology, Biomechanics, and Biomaterials. In their final year, they collaborate in teams on a capstone design initiative. These senior projects receive support from regional medical device firms or clinical organizations, offering students hands-on involvement in device development pertinent to the biomedical and clinical sectors.
