The Engineering Physics Bachelor of Science program leverages UMass Lowell's physics department expertise while incorporating specialized engineering coursework. The Electrical and Computer Engineering Option features both mandatory and elective courses from these engineering disciplines. You'll complete foundational courses in mathematics and chemistry shared by both Physics and Engineering Physics degree tracks, along with Application Programming, two semesters of Circuit Theory with accompanying laboratory work, and Logic Design.
This approach enables you to pursue personal academic interests, establish groundwork for interdisciplinary graduate studies, and equip yourself for varied engineering and technology careers. Our curriculum readies students for positions demanding advanced mathematical proficiency, computer modeling experience, and engineering principles knowledge—particularly in research and development roles within emerging technology fields.
