The Bachelor of Science in Engineering in Environmental Engineering starts with foundational courses in academic writing, mathematics, and the sciences. An introductory course in civil and environmental engineering will also familiarize you with computer-aided engineering and design principles.
In your second year, you'll study more advanced engineering mathematics, fundamental engineering mechanics, and biology tailored for engineers. Additional courses provide an overview of environmental engineering, featuring both a related laboratory session and a chemistry course specific to the field.
During the junior year, the curriculum explores energy and sustainability, groundwater hydrogeology and remediation, and biological methods in environmental engineering. As a senior, you'll concentrate on chemical fate and transport in natural systems, air quality management, and solid waste engineering. You also have the option to select two professional electives; these can be applied toward a master’s degree if you enroll in the combined B.S.E./M.S.E. program.
You are considered a first-year student if you have not taken any post-secondary/college coursework. Your application should include your high school or secondary school records, including results from culminating or leaving examinations.
