The Biomedical Engineering and Biotechnology (BMEBT) program is a nationally acclaimed initiative bridging biology and engineering, designed for: graduates with bachelor's degrees across diverse life science or engineering/physical science disciplines tackling modern biomedical and healthcare research challenges equipping students for careers in biomedical and healthcare sectors This interdisciplinary BMEBT curriculum incorporates courses from multiple fields: bioengineering, biology, chemistry, biochemistry, computer science, electrical and computer engineering, mathematics, mechanical engineering, and medical laboratory science. The program focuses on solving current biomedical and health research issues while fulfilling the growing demand for skilled professionals in biomedical and biotechnology research across industry, government, and academic sectors.

Qualification Requirements

Candidates must submit the required application materials, university requirements and program-specific requirements, for consideration.

Individuals holding a bachelor's or master's degree in the life sciences or engineering/physical science fields (or the U.S. baccalaureate equivalents from a foreign institution) are encouraged to apply. Successful applicants generally have had undergraduate coursework in statistics/experimental design and in life science/biomedical science.

Requirements
Must have an undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or higher to be considered.
Applicant must have a minimum of 2 semesters (or 3 quarter sequence) of calculus and have strong quantitative skills.
GRE is required, but waived (but strongly recommended) for applicants with cumulative baccalaureate degree GPA > 3.00. Unofficial scores are accepted for admissions application review, once enrolled official scores are required and must be sent by the testing agency (copies/scans not accepted).
1 letters of recommendation. Applicants will be required to provide the recommenders name and email address so we can contact the recommender for the letter of recommendation.
Statement of purpose (300 words)
include your academic and professional background, research credentials, and career plans as they relate to the degree program. Discuss research experience (academic, industrial) and any publications, grants, or patents.
