Civil engineering focuses on designing and building the infrastructure we use daily, including structures like buildings, bridges, tunnels, and dams, as well as systems for transportation such as waterways, railways, and highways. It also covers water management areas like hydropower, irrigation, drainage, and supply, along with waste handling for wastewater and hazardous materials, and environmental health systems. As a civil engineering student, you will gain skills in planning, designing, constructing, and overseeing public and private infrastructure projects. You will also be equipped to tackle modern challenges in sustainability, climate change, and alternative energy sources. The bachelor's program in civil engineering includes a specialization in environmental resources engineering, where professionals use civil engineering methods to address issues in air and water pollution, solid and hazardous waste management, renewable energy, and water resources engineering.
