The University of Massachusetts Boston's Master of Science in Rehabilitation Counseling prepares students for advanced certification as rehabilitation counselors while fulfilling partial requirements for state licensure in rehabilitation or mental health counseling. These professionals empower people with disabilities to live meaningful lives, including securing competitive employment within their communities.
This 60-credit curriculum trains practitioners to enhance educational opportunities and socioeconomic inclusion for people with disabilities. While most coursework is delivered online, some on-campus options are available. Weekly one-hour virtual class sessions are held during each semester. Designed for working professionals, the program offers flexibility with evening online classes to accommodate busy schedules.
Students begin with an intensive one-week on-campus orientation in Boston to connect with faculty and peers. Our diverse student population comes from various regions and age groups nationwide.
