The Psychology major consists of 12 courses. These requirements give students a grounding in five key areas of psychology, advanced studies in specialized topics, and fundamental research methods. The major is organized into four components.
Major requirements indicate the essential psychology courses students must pass to graduate with this major. While the minimum is 12 courses, we recommend taking additional classes in psychology and related fields. Just one of the 12 required courses can be taken pass/fail, while the remaining 11 must be graded. At least eight courses must be completed at UMass Boston.
Your future success at UMass Boston is important to us, and that begins with your high school curriculum.
