Bachelor's Degree
To be admitted to the Geosciences M.S. program, applicants must meet both the Graduate School's standard requirements and these additional criteria: one year of college-level mathematics or statistics (excluding pre-calculus), one year each of two supporting science subjects (biology, chemistry, or physics), plus six weeks of fieldwork or research experience. The Geosciences Department provides two distinct pathways to complete the master's degree: students may choose either the thesis option or the project-based (non-thesis) route. Both tracks effectively prepare graduates for professional careers or doctoral studies. The decision between thesis and project track is made collaboratively by the student and their academic advisor.
