Our doctoral candidates usually dedicate around five years to completing our program. They typically finish comprehensive exams in Microeconomics, Econometrics, and a chosen specialization (Industrial Organization, Environmental Economics, or Experimental & Behavioral) by the beginning of their second summer. The program requires 45 course credits and 18 dissertation credits, culminating in a final Dissertation. The Resource Economics M.S. and Ph.D. programs develop exceptional researchers and sector leaders across three focus areas: Environmental and Natural Resource Economics, Empirical Industrial Organization, and Experimental and Behavioral Economics. Through these programs, you'll gain knowledge from leading scholars and practitioners in your chosen field, equipping you for professional roles in marketing, energy, renewable sectors, policy organizations, and economic consulting at the master's level, while the doctoral program prepares graduates for research careers across academic, governmental, and industry settings.
