The Bachelor of Music in Jazz & African American Music Studies is a rigorous, career-focused program spanning eight semesters. Our undergraduate Jazz curriculum covers a wide range of disciplines including performance, theory, historical studies, composition/arranging, ensemble work, and improvisation. Students can pursue Jazz studies at various levels, earning a Master of Music, Bachelor of Music, Bachelor of Arts, or Music Minor. Within the Department of Music & Dance, learners receive conservatory-level training within the vibrant environment of a leading public research institution.
