The rise of digital workflows and computerized image editing has intensified longstanding debates about photography's connection to truth, historical record, and event documentation.
Students of still photography navigate the persistent challenge of establishing their field as a unique art form while tracking its growing convergence with other creative, technological, and social mediums and norms.
Our curriculum provides comprehensive training in both traditional and digital photography techniques. Learners explore camera mechanics and theory, illumination techniques, darkroom procedures, digital post-production, video, and multimedia integration. The program emphasizes cultivating critical analysis, writing proficiency, and research capabilities, alongside expanding understanding of art history, theoretical frameworks, and cultural contexts. Additional offerings include specialized classes on photographic heritage and cinema studies.
