Students working toward a Bachelor of Arts in Music can select from four specialization tracks: Classical Performance, Music History, Music Theory, or JAAMS (Jazz and African American Music Studies). Comprehensive details about these programs, including application and audition criteria, will be posted here by early September 2020. This less rigorous Music degree compared to the Bachelor of Music is ideal for those considering a double major or a broader liberal arts curriculum. While sharing core requirements with the Bachelor of Music program, it excludes Class Piano and Conducting prerequisites, and mandates six (rather than eight) semesters of private instruction and ensemble participation. Additionally, students must fulfill all College of Humanities and Fine Arts requirements, including Intermediate II level proficiency in a Foreign Language.
