The Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering provides academic programs for earning either a Doctor of Philosophy or Master of Science degree in Chemical Engineering. Each program mandates a written thesis along with an oral defense. Our faculty's research spans diverse areas, supporting advanced studies in fields like aerosol science, biochemical engineering, computational modeling, fluid dynamics, fuel cell development, metabolic engineering, nanotechnology, polymer science, process optimization, thermodynamics, and systems analysis. The department operates a networked computing environment with dedicated research labs and a PC workstation facility. Key research equipment such as electron microscopes, X-ray diffractometers, XPS instruments, and NMR spectrometers are managed across multiple specialized laboratories.
Open to qualified students holding the Bachelor of Science degree. Admission may be granted to students with degrees in other engineering and science areas from accredited programs, and it may be necessary in some cases to require courses to establish an undergraduate Chemical Engineering background.
