The School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation provides a graduate program culminating in the NAAB-accredited Master of Architecture degree. The ARCH Program aims to reshape our world through cutting-edge design education, research, and practice that reimagines spaces at every scale while enhancing living standards. Through our mission, we drive transformation via instruction, hands-on learning, and academic pursuits, equipping future architects with comprehensive training and specialized skills to identify and address challenges in team-based educational and professional settings. The curriculum features an intensive combination of design studios, architectural history and theory courses, and building technology studies, supplemented by elective options across architecture and related disciplines.
Across the U.S., licensing boards typically mandate completion of an accredited professional architecture degree. As the exclusive accrediting body for architecture programs at regionally accredited U.S. institutions, NAAB endorses three degree types: Bachelor of Architecture, Master of Architecture, and Doctor of Architecture. Accreditation terms span eight, three, or two years, determined by each program's alignment with rigorous educational benchmarks.
Applications from four categories will be considered for admission:
candidates with a four-year Bachelor of Science in architecture degree;
candidates with four-year baccalaureate (B.A.) in architecture, environmental design (B.A. or B.S.), or relevant discipline; and
candidates with four-year baccalaureate (B.A. or B.S.) in a major other than architecture who have successfully completed specified undergraduate prerequisites outlined by the School of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation1; and
candidates with an accredited professional degree in architecture. Students are expected to enroll on a full-time basis.
