Biostatistics is a scientific field that develops theories and methods for examining, summarizing, and drawing conclusions from health-related data. This area of study mainly concentrates on solving challenges in healthcare, medicine, and life sciences. The 45-credit MPH program specializing in biostatistics trains students for careers as public health practitioners, researchers, managers, and advisors. Full-time students can finish the curriculum in two years, while part-time students have up to four years to complete it. Most classes are scheduled during evening hours. Along with academic studies, biostatistics master's candidates must fulfill a 240-hour practical internship and a culminating capstone project.
Those applicants who have earned or will earn a bachelor's degree at a regionally accredited college or university in the United States (or the equivalent of a baccalaureate degree from a nationally recognized institution in another country) are eligible to be considered for admission to the Graduate School at the University of Maryland
