The Mathematics Department currently maintains close affiliations with three distinct programs: Mathematics (MATH), Applied Mathematics & Statistics with Scientific Computation (AMSC), and Mathematical Statistics (STAT). Prospective students should specify their preferred program using the designated code during the application process. The interdisciplinary AMSC program provides three specialized tracks: applied mathematics, scientific computation, and applied statistics. The STAT program focuses specifically on mathematical statistics and probability theory. Meanwhile, the MATH program encompasses graduate studies across numerous mathematical disciplines including algebra, algebraic geometry, complex analysis, dynamical systems, geometry, harmonic analysis, mathematical logic, number theory, numerical analysis, differential equations, probability theory, functional analysis, representation theory, and topology.
