As a key component of the School of Public Health, the Department of Kinesiology provides graduate programs for both Master of Arts (with thesis and non-thesis tracks) and Doctor of Philosophy degrees. Students can focus their research within three primary domains: exercise physiology, cognitive motor neuroscience, and physical cultural studies. Under faculty mentorship, learners craft specialized academic paths aligned with faculty specialties. The curriculum fosters a broad comprehension of Kinesiology's interdisciplinary nature and its connection to public health. Practical knowledge is acquired through classes, hands-on research, departmental involvement, academic seminars, and participation in professional conferences. The PhD program offers concentrations in: Cognitive Motor Neuroscience: Covering motor control, biomechanics, computational approaches, sport psychology, and exercise psychophysiology Exercise Physiology: Exploring genetic, molecular, cellular, and applied research in muscular, metabolic, and cardiovascular systems Physical Cultural Studies: Examining physical culture through interdisciplinary lenses including sociology, history, and media studies of sport and physical activity
