The Biophysics Program at the Institute for Physical Science and Technology provides doctoral-level education in Biophysics. It collaborates with both the College of Computer, Mathematical and Natural Sciences and the College of Engineering to offer Ph.D. degrees. This program prepares graduate students to apply theoretical, computational, and experimental approaches for quantitative analysis of biological systems. In today's post-genomic age, advanced tools enable detailed examination and manipulation of living organisms. Effectively utilizing these resources for biological, medical, and engineering applications demands interdisciplinary knowledge. Accordingly, our program incorporates faculty expertise from Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Materials Science, and Bioengineering. Students with bachelor's degrees in chemistry, physics, biology, mathematics, computational science, or engineering are welcome to apply. Recognizing diverse academic backgrounds, we customize coursework to meet each student's specific requirements.
