The Anthropology of Health examines how global, historical, and structural factors shape perceptions and experiences of health and wellness. This field integrates perspectives from social, cultural, biological, and linguistic anthropology to analyze health determinants, illness patterns, treatment methods, healing practices, care systems, and diverse medical traditions. The Medical Anthropology & Global Health program attracts students seeking theoretical grounding in medical anthropology and practical skills for analyzing worldwide health concerns. Through interdisciplinary methods, we enhance analytical depth, equipping students with rigorous theoretical and empirical tools to address modern health issues.
