The Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in School System Leadership is a practitioner-focused doctoral program that prepares leaders to spearhead collaborative and inclusive initiatives for systemic improvement. Cohorts of students progress through this 36-month program, working collectively to address actual challenges faced by school systems. This Ed.D. program meets Maryland State Department of Education requirements for Superintendent II certification. Rooted in improvement science methodologies, the curriculum features courses delivered through intensive Saturday seminars and online modules. Students complete their studies with a Capstone Project targeting tangible improvements or solutions for real-world issues in educational systems.
Students are required to have a Master's degree as well as Administrator I Certification.
