UMBC's Biotechnology program is designed to meet evolving industry demands through hands-on learning experiences. The curriculum provides in-depth training in life sciences along with specialized courses in regulatory compliance, leadership, business administration, and financial operations. This distinctive program serves as an alternative to traditional MBA or doctoral degrees. The foundation includes five core classes (15 credit hours) followed by a culminating capstone course (3 credit hours), totaling six courses (18 credit hours). The biotechnology core curriculum delivers essential industry-relevant competencies, while the capstone project begins in the initial semester and reaches completion in the final capstone course.
