The Master of Science (MS) in Pharmaceutical Sciences (PSC) program at the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy delivers in-depth education and state-of-the-art training, equipping students for senior research and leadership roles in pharmaceutical firms, biotech industries, and government agencies. This intensive 16-month full-time curriculum, offered at the Universities at Shady Grove in Rockville, combines fundamental and applied pharmaceutical sciences with practical laboratory research. Key program features include a mandatory biopharmaceutical research internship and a culminating capstone project. Each student collaborates with a dedicated faculty mentor to customize these components according to their professional aspirations. Notably, this program does not mandate a thesis requirement.

Qualification Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university or an equivalent degree from a comparable foreign institution. Our program favors applicants with a degree in the areas of biology, biochemistry, chemistry, engineering, molecular biology, pharmacy, and pharmaceutical sciences. Other degrees will also be considered with the following coursework recommended with a grade of B or better: General Chemistry, General Biology, Calculus, Organic Chemistry, and Biochemistry.
