We are dedicated to delivering exceptional education to a broad spectrum of high-caliber students (both full-time and part-time) with diverse ambitions and professional objectives in public policy. This includes: Recent undergraduates seeking careers in policy analysis, management, or research; Mid-career professionals aiming to enhance their skills and credentials; Those holding a master's degree in public policy, administration, planning, or related fields who desire further education; Aspiring academics pursuing teaching or research roles in policy-related disciplines. For PhD candidates without a relevant master's degree, the program mandates 48 credit hours of coursework plus 18 dissertation research hours, structured into core classes, foundational disciplinary studies, and specialized policy courses. Students with prior graduate degrees will have reduced course requirements.

Students who are unable to meet the minimum GPA standards may still be admitted to graduate study by demonstrating outstanding performance on one or more of the graduate aptitude tests or by providing letters of recommendation from evaluators who can speak to the applicant's performance as a student or in a professional capacity.
Standards for admission to a doctoral program are generally higher than those for admission to a master's program. The terms of this admission are based on specific recommendations made by the applicant's department in conjunction with the Graduate School.
