The doctoral degree is granted exclusively when candidates demonstrate exceptional scholarly achievement and the capability to conduct autonomous research within environmental engineering. Compared to the Master's degree, the Ph.D. program places significantly greater emphasis on research, aiming to equip students with comprehensive expertise for careers as independent scholars. This advanced degree is ideal for individuals pursuing professional paths in research, academia, or high-level technical roles. Departmental researchers are currently investigating pharmaceutical contaminants in wastewater, toxic substance analysis and cleanup in soil ecosystems, atmospheric chemistry and particulate pollution mechanisms, as well as cutting-edge modeling and monitoring techniques for groundwater-surface water systems.
