History students planning to pursue a Master's degree in historical studies can apply for the department's accelerated B.A./M.A. program. Applications should be submitted in late sophomore or junior year to start the program during senior year. For details, reach out to the History Department. Applicants must fill out the BA/MA form and schedule a meeting with the Graduate Program Director. Studying History opens doors to diverse career paths and graduate programs. UMBC History graduates have built rewarding careers across various sectors including business, government, education, law, policy, and entrepreneurship. The UMBC History Department provides undergraduate majors, minors in Public History and East Asian History, plus a Master of Arts in Historical Studies with an Accelerated B.A./M.A. option. The M.A. program's Public History Track prepares graduate students for work at historical sites, government institutions, museums, and similar organizations.
