A fast-track program that merges a Bachelor of Arts in Economics, Bachelor of Science in Financial Economics, or any UMBC undergraduate degree with a Master's in Economic Policy Analysis (a collaborative offering between the Economics Department and School of Public Policy). The UMBC Economics Department provides diverse academic options, allowing students to customize their educational journey. You can choose to major in either Economics or Financial Economics. Both the B.A. in Economics and B.S. in Financial Economics deliver a classic liberal arts and sciences education. These programs cultivate analytical thinking that enhances problem-solving skills, empowering students to systematically examine economic, financial, political, and broader life matters. Additionally, you can pair your Economics or Financial Economics major with an Administrative Sciences certificate. The Administrative Sciences curriculum focuses on practical, skill-based coursework. While the economics and financial economics liberal arts degrees foster independent and innovative thinking, the certificate programs build concrete professional competencies. This dual approach prepares graduates to excel in today's rapidly evolving job market.
