The Bachelor of Arts in Biology Education (BIOE) program combines the core curriculum of the standard Biology B.A. with specialized courses needed for secondary school teaching certification. Graduates will gain comprehensive knowledge in biological sciences, qualifying them for both teaching roles and various technical careers. With over 30 tenured and tenure-track professors and lecturers, UMBC's Biological Sciences Department stands as one of the institution's largest, covering diverse research and instructional areas.
