The Master of Science in Teaching (MST) program is administered by the University's Center for Research in STEM Education. This graduate program aims to expand the pool of skilled science and math educators while providing research-focused professional development for both aspiring and current teachers pursuing advanced degrees. Doctoral candidates looking to enhance their teaching expertise also frequently enroll. The 31-credit MST curriculum includes specialized courses, a thesis project, and supervised teaching practice in foundational STEM courses. Participants will engage with educational research findings and learn to apply them effectively in classroom settings. The degree can help fulfill teacher certification requirements through selected electives, which may include secondary school teaching practicums. The MST's secondary science and math certification pathway holds accreditation from the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education.
