The Bachelor of Science in Sustainable Food Systems examines the complex network of processes from food production to consumption and waste management, along with the stakeholders involved and the factors affecting or affected by these processes. The curriculum offers five specialized tracks: Climate Change and Food Systems, Food Processing and Innovation, Justice, Equity, and Community Development, Leadership and Management, and Plant and Animal Production Systems. Students may also design a custom concentration in Sustainable Food Systems.
The Plant and Animal Production Systems track enables learners to explore combined crop and livestock operations across various scales, from local to global. Through rigorous evaluation of agricultural models, students will identify environmentally sustainable approaches that support robust food output. This concentration covers both animal husbandry and crop cultivation, preparing graduates for professional roles in agriculture, consultancy, scientific research, and policy development.
