The Mechanical Engineering Program holds accreditation from ABET's Engineering Accreditation Commission. This curriculum culminates in a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering. UMaine undergraduates in Mechanical Engineering have the opportunity to specialize in Aerospace Engineering, a dynamic and demanding professional field. Aerospace engineers operate at the forefront of technological advancement, engaging in the research, design, and development of diverse vehicle systems - from satellites and spacecraft to aircraft, helicopters, and autonomous drones. These professionals work with systems achieving remarkable velocities through atmospheric and space environments.
