The Construction Engineering Technology (CET) program integrates civil engineering technology with construction business management. This curriculum merges construction, engineering, and management within a hands-on educational approach, preparing graduates for fulfilling careers where they apply their expertise, practical experience, and knowledge to build structures and infrastructure across the country. At UMaine, typical construction engineering technology classes have around 30 students. Over 98% of CET students gain employment in engineering or construction during summer breaks. The University of Maine's Construction Engineering Technology (CET) program maintains the same outstanding quality as its predecessor, Construction Management Technology (CMT). The program underwent a name change to maintain accreditation through ABET's Engineering Technology Accreditation Commission (abet.org) under Construction Engineering standards. This accreditation enables our graduates to pursue professional engineering licensure in numerous states, including Maine.
