The Art Department provides both Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) and Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) degrees in Studio Art. Enrollment in the B.A. program simply requires standard UMaine admission, with no extra prerequisites. Those in the B.A. track can transition to the B.F.A. program starting from their fourth semester onward. Our Studio Art curriculum (for both BA and BFA degrees) cultivates a dynamic educational atmosphere that nurtures artistic innovation and technical mastery. The program guides emerging artists to
hone their abilities across diverse mediums while building a strong grounding in liberal arts and sciences.
