The University of La Verne's Master of Science in Leadership and Management (MSLM) program develops skilled leaders prepared to guide diverse organizations. This curriculum equips students to translate theoretical concepts into practical solutions, graduating with both leadership expertise and critical thinking abilities for organizational challenges.
Our MSLM program requires 33 credit hours (36 for those without prior management education), including 12 focused on a specialization. Learners can attend classes online or at various campus sites. The coursework prepares professionals to navigate the evolving demands of modern organizational leadership.
Faculty prioritize individualized attention and strong student connections, with foundational courses building crucial management competencies. Students then tailor their studies through specialized electives or a broader curriculum. The culminating experience, following research-focused prerequisites, involves developing and presenting either a thesis or practical research project.
Since the program isn't industry-specific, graduates apply their skills across sectors - from corporations and nonprofits to healthcare, government, startups, and entrepreneurial ventures. The practical curriculum proves valuable for leadership roles in project management, HR, and executive positions.
With evolving economic landscapes, organizations increasingly need leaders who can inspire teams, drive outcomes, and create impact. Supporting this trend, Bureau of Labor Statistics projects 7% growth in management occupations across industries by 2028.
