School counselors foster inclusive settings that encourage cultural awareness, educational excellence, and equitable opportunities. These professionals adopt comprehensive strategies to enhance learning experiences, ensuring student achievement across academic, career planning, and personal development areas.
For optimal accessibility, the MS in Educational Counseling program is offered at multiple California campuses such as La Verne, Bakersfield, Burbank, Irvine, and Santa Clarita. Classes are scheduled during late afternoons, evenings, and select weekends to accommodate working professionals, with both full-time and part-time enrollment options. The 55-71 credit program can be finished in 2 years of full-time study or 2-3.5 years for students pursuing a specialization.
The curriculum prepares graduates to tackle school environment and mental health challenges through culturally responsive approaches that boost student performance. Our program champions an inclusive philosophy aligned with the National Standards for School Counseling, promoting fairness in educational, vocational, and personal growth.
Graduate studies focus on social equity, self-awareness, innovation, high standards, and civic engagement, incorporating community-based research projects. Alumni emerge as empowered advocates who partner with families, educators, and society. The program enhances analytical abilities and self-evaluation while building the confidence to confront prejudices, value differences, and drive positive change in educational and social settings.
