The Religion and Philosophy Department at the University of La Verne provides students with a chance to examine how ideas have shaped civilizations and personal belief systems across different eras and societies.
Religious studies courses engage students in analyzing faith and spiritual principles through an academic lens. Philosophy classes push students to examine foundational intellectual traditions that have influenced human thought. The Inter-faith minor helps students recognize and value the diverse religious landscape of our modern world. Every course prioritizes analytical reasoning and assessing multiple viewpoints to help students develop their own informed perspectives.
Students can pursue Bachelor of Arts degrees in Religion, Philosophy, or combined Religion/Philosophy. The department also offers minor programs in Religion, Philosophy, or Inter-faith Studies.
