The College of Health Sciences provides an Undergraduate Research Program that awards a Certificate in Undergraduate Research in Human Health Sciences. This initiative aims to motivate and acknowledge undergraduate students who dedicate substantial time during their studies to academic and investigative activities within the Health Sciences field. The certificate enables all University of Kentucky undergraduates to acquire specialized expertise in cross-disciplinary clinical, translational, and fundamental research related to human health. This program strengthens the academic objectives of students seeking healthcare careers by offering valuable research experience in health-related disciplines.

Qualification Requirements

All secondary school and college/university level transcripts must be submitted for review. The transcripts must be official and in your native language.
You will also need to provide another official transcript that has been translated into English by your secondary school or college/university.
College/university transcripts from institutions outside of the United States will be evaluated for transfer credit by our office.
The University of Kentucky accepts official TOEFL and IELTS results from the testing headquarters.
The minimum TOEFL score of 71 (iBT), 197 (cbt) or 527 (paper-based) or a minimum score of 6.0 on the IELTS is required for admission to the University of Kentucky. The admissions criteria for the certificate are:

A minimum second semester freshman
3.0 GPA
A statement from a CHS faculty research mentor willing to work with the student
An application submitted through the College of Health Sciences Undergraduate Research web portal
