The Master of Science (M.S.) in Family Sciences takes a comprehensive approach to enhancing well-being across individuals, families, and communities. This program equips graduates for direct career entry while establishing a strong base for future doctoral studies.
Students can specialize in one of five focus areas: (a) adolescent development, (b) gerontology, (c) couples and family therapy, (d) household finance and economics, or (e) family dynamics. All specializations except couples and family therapy require at least 30 credit hours, including 15 core credits, 5 elective credits, 3 credits in data analysis or program evaluation, 1 professional development seminar credit, and 6 thesis (Plan A) or research project (Plan B) credits.
