Industrial production and robotics play vital roles in modern manufacturing, yet over 50% of activities in standard operations are inefficient. ECE experts are working to enhance manufacturing productivity by digitizing production facilities, employing sensor technology to gather performance data on equipment and processes. In robotics, professors are developing innovative control techniques to ensure maximum dependability in extreme conditions like deep-sea and space environments, where malfunction repairs would be prohibitively expensive or unfeasible. Significant progress has also been achieved in human-robot welding collaboration, leveraging virtual reality to establish secure training simulations and enable distant control of welding robots, merging human decision-making with robotic precision to successfully complete intricate manufacturing tasks.
