High Performance Coaching is an emerging profession in the U.S. that's rapidly growing and opening up new career paths. Sports teams at both college and professional levels are increasingly bringing on High Performance Coaches to maximize athlete potential. These coaches work alongside other experts to improve athletic performance. In the past, athletes would separately seek advice from nutritionists, sports psychologists, medical staff, and strength coaches. Today, High Performance Coaches serve as coordinators, gathering physiological data, wellness metrics, and training loads while synthesizing this information with input from various specialists to boost results.
The Certificate program emphasizes developing student expertise in: strength and conditioning principles, analyzing physiological preparedness and stress responses to physical/mental demands, leadership in sports environments, and the mental aspects of athletic achievement.
