Nanotechnology explores materials and systems at an incredibly minute scale - about one-thousandth the width of a human hair. These microscopic innovations find uses in diverse fields like medical testing, high-tech imaging equipment, adjustable x-ray devices, light-based data transmission, and sustainable energy production using light-capturing microbes. ECE researchers specializing in nanotechnology are developing electronic components, detection systems, and carbon nanotube structures with applications across power systems, industrial production, and aerospace technology.
