The Chemistry Department provides Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy degree programs. Students pursuing an M.S. degree can choose between Plan A or Plan B to fulfill requirements. Specialization areas include analytical, biological, inorganic, organic, physical, and radionuclear chemistry. Ph.D. candidates must complete one semester as a teaching assistant. Students earn doctoral degrees by conducting original, meaningful research on chemically significant topics within the Chemistry Department. The dissertation findings should be suitable for publication in peer-reviewed scientific journals.

For the Graduate School, the minimum acceptable TOEFL score is 550 (paper-based) 213 (computer-based), or 79 (internet-based). The minimum IELTS score is 6.5
An overall grade point average of 2.75 on undergraduate work and 3.00 on all graduate work is required by the Graduate School.
