Students in our agricultural and medical biotechnology (ABT) program come from diverse backgrounds but unite in their passion for applying science to enhance global well-being. Our curriculum focuses on practical training in genetics, molecular biology, genetic modification, chemistry, and life sciences to prepare future innovators. From creating therapies for hereditary disorders to modifying crops for climate resilience, you'll master the art of blending fundamental science with analytical reasoning to address pressing challenges in medicine and farming. ABT alumni often continue their education in fields including healthcare (medicine, pharmaceuticals, dental studies, and physician assistant programs), agriscience, life sciences, legal studies, cellular biology, and animal medicine.

Qualification Requirements

All secondary school and college/university level transcripts must be submitted for review. The transcripts must be official and in your native language.
You will also need to provide another official transcript that has been translated into English by your secondary school or college/university.
College/university transcripts from institutions outside of the United States will be evaluated for transfer credit by our office.
The University of Kentucky accepts official TOEFL and IELTS results from the testing headquarters.
The minimum TOEFL score of 71 (iBT), 197 (cbt) or 527 (paper-based) or a minimum score of 6.0 on the IELTS is required for admission to the University of Kentucky.
