The Bachelor of Science in Mathematics provides deeper mathematical education and broader application training compared to the B.A. program. The B.S. requirements offer significant flexibility in course selection and specialization areas. Students should thoughtfully design their academic paths to align with personal interests and objectives, while ensuring they meet all course prerequisites.
Numerous students develop focused interests in specific mathematical fields. Accordingly, the Department has established three optional pathways within the B.S. program: statistics, applied mathematics, and pure mathematics. These pathways serve as guidance rather than strict requirements. Students without particular specialization preferences are advised to create a comprehensive study plan within the B.S. framework.
Admission will be granted to students who meet the following standard:
A minimum grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale for all previous coursework, including transfer coursework.
English Proficiency:
TOEFL iBT or TOEFL iBT Special Home Edition: 79 (18 minimum subscore)
TOEFL paper-delivered test: 60 (18 minimum subscore)
IELTS: 6.5 (6.0 minimum subscore)
PTE Academic: 53
