The Bachelor of Science in Interior Architecture (IA) program at KU offers an interdisciplinary professional education, equipping graduates to become leaders in interior architecture and design. In October 2022, the IA Program achieved CIDA (Council for Interior Design Accreditation) Candidacy status.
Students gain hands-on experience in a collaborative studio setting, developing skills to design innovative, inclusive spaces that enhance human well-being and environmental sustainability. The curriculum emphasizes research-backed, human-centric design approaches that mirror current and emerging industry practices.
This four-year program complements the School's accredited Master of Architecture degree. Students can pursue an accelerated dual degree, earning both a BS in Interior Architecture and a Master of Architecture with fewer than two additional years of study.
Admission will be granted to students who meet the following standard:
A minimum grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale for all previous coursework, including transfer coursework.
English Proficiency:
TOEFL iBT or TOEFL iBT Special Home Edition: 79 (18 minimum subscore)
TOEFL paper-delivered test: 60 (18 minimum subscore)
IELTS: 6.5 (6.0 minimum subscore)
