The Bachelor of Arts in Music program caters to students passionate about music while allowing them to pursue a secondary degree or minor outside the School of Music.
Completion requires 120 credit hours (including 45 at the junior/senior 300 level). Graduation mandates a minimum 3.0 GPA in major courses and a 2.0 average across all coursework.
This degree provides broad musical knowledge while enabling students to combine it with any approved KU major or minor without additional credit requirements. Learners benefit from instruction by nationally and internationally acclaimed faculty. The curriculum encompasses music theory, music history, private lessons, ensemble participation, chamber music, and culminates in a senior recital.
