Both programs mandate classes in humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences. While the BA has distinct writing, math, foreign language, and lab science prerequisites, the BGS provides flexibility to pursue additional academic interests through two certificates, a minor, or a dual major. Both degrees necessitate completing at least 35 credit hours in Speech-Language-Hearing courses. The department also offers minor and certificate options for students focusing on communication-related careers.
