The Bachelor of General Studies program offers greater focus on a student's primary academic focus while maintaining a well-rounded educational base. This degree requires fewer core classes, but mandates either a concentration (three advanced courses) or a minor in a secondary discipline (typically 18 credit hours). Unlike some degrees, the BGS doesn't include a foreign language requirement. Important to know: many geography graduate programs necessitate statistics coursework like GEOG 316, and we strongly advise taking an introductory GIS course such as GEOG 358.
Admission will be granted to students who meet the following standard:
A minimum grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale for all previous coursework, including transfer coursework.

TOEFL paper-delivered test: 60 (18 minimum subscore)
IELTS: 6.5 (6.0 minimum subscore)
