The Master of Social Work (MSW) program equips social workers for professional leadership roles and enhanced practice across diverse environments. Participants can select between two specialized tracks, each designed to cultivate expertise in supporting families and communities while promoting societal transformation. The program's current focus areas—family-centered practice and integrated practice—impart essential knowledge and techniques for assisting individuals across all life stages, from children to seniors, as well as families, groups, organizations, and communities. This curriculum enables students to acquire crucial leadership capabilities for tackling Iowa's distinctive challenges, such as its aging population, rural immigrant communities, and persistent rural poverty.
